We are looking for pharmacy students to fulfill the role of a registry pharmacy technician as soon as possible!  Registry positions; alternating /every other weekend.

This unique opportunity allows the pharmacy student to use (and further develop) their education,  passion, and leadership skills in the hospital practice setting. The student works closely with Pharmacists, Residents and Technicians to ensure the safe use of medications throughout the hospital.

Requirements for this role include:

  • Certified pharmacy technician or a student technician license
  • High performing, dependable
  • Positive attitude
  • Fast learner
  • Flexible – available to work every other weekend
    • Must be available during winter and summer breaks
    • Required to work 2 holidays annually
  • Prior pharmacy technician experience preferred, but not required

 

Job Responsibilities include:

  • Medication therapy collaboration with Pharmacists and Technicians
  • Pharmacy IV room competency training
    • Adult and neonatal IV preparations
    • Total Parental Nutrition compounding
  • Training with advanced technology including:
    • Omnicell automated dispensing cabinets
    • MedCarousel
    • DoseEdge
    • KitCheck
  • Delivery of patient specific and stock medications
  • Triage of phone calls from prescribers and nurses
