The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus offers a 12-month post-PharmD training program. The residency is defined as "an organized, directed, postgraduate training program that centers on development of the knowledge, attitudes and skills needed to pursue rational drug therapy."
Residency Program Outcomes
- Provide evidence-based, direct patient care to multiple patient populations
- Demonstrate professionalism
- Effectively educate patients, students and a multidisciplinary healthcare team by utilizing available medical technology
- Possess the ability to manage own practice
- Demonstrate leadership skills
- Develop effective written and verbal communication skills
Length of program: 12 months (approximately July-June)
Number of positions: 2 PGY1 positions

- Annual salary: $53,600

The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus offers a 12-month post-PharmD training
program that provides you with a unique opportunity to explore your career options.
PGY1 pharmacy residency programs build on Doctor of Pharmacy education and outcomes to
contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of
patients with a wide range of conditions. At the conclusion of training, residents are eligible for board
certification and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training. (ASHP)
