Learn More About Rural Pharmacy

The College of Pharmacy received a grant totaling $864,000 from the McKesson Foundation to support rural-focused interventions to actively develop and train pharmacy professionals to serve rural populations.

Over the next three years, this grant will allow educators on the UIC Health Sciences Campus-Rockford to expand the High School Pharmacy Camp to rural students interested in learning about pharmacy careers. In addition, it will fund a rural-focused experience during the Summer Pharmacy Institute in Rockford.

The grant will also allow the college to provide alumni of the RPHARM program and other pharmacists working in rural areas to receive continuing education to help keep them up to date on patient care guidelines and innovative pharmacy care practices.

Rural Pharmacy Camps

Rural Pharmacy Camps are half day, introductory experiences designed to expose high school & college students to the field of pharmacy.  These camps will help participants decide if pharmacy is right for them (https://pharmacyforme.org/).
