Community outreach is a staple of the UPHARM program. UPHARM student teams provide health literacy and education with regards to hyper tension, diabetes and other relevant health issues in neighborhoods such as West Humboldt park with a large Hispanic population and Englewood with a large African American population.
The UPHARM program is in collaboration with the College of Medicine UMed program and other Urban Health profession colleges at UIC based on the principles of interprofessional education.
